Arsenal Faces Injury Setbacks Ahead of League Cup Clash
Arsenal's William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli will miss the League Cup match against Brighton due to injuries. Despite other players like Bukayo Saka being available, manager Mikel Arteta faces challenges with key attacking options unavailable. Arsenal still aims for success in their upcoming fixture.
Arsenal is dealing with a wave of injuries as center back William Saliba and winger Gabriel Martinelli have been ruled out of Wednesday's League Cup fourth-round match against Brighton & Hove Albion, according to manager Mikel Arteta. Saliba suffered an injury during the team's recent Premier League win against Crystal Palace.
While Arsenal faces the absence of Saliba and Martinelli, midfielder Declan Rice and defender Riccardo Calafiori are fit to play, and Bukayo Saka has recovered from illness. Arteta noted that despite the squad's depth, coping with injuries requires careful management of player minutes. Arsenal aims to maintain their strong start to the season.
With attackers Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz also sidelined, Arsenal's offensive options are limited. However, Arteta's strategic recruitment, including players like Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, is expected to support their pursuit of victory when hosting Brighton, who currently sit at 13th in the Premier League.
