In the final round robin match of the ICC Women's World Cup, Sri Lanka's skipper Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and opted to bowl first against Pakistan. The start of the match faced a significant delay of over three hours due to rain in Colombo.
Consequently, the match has been curtailed to just 34 overs per side. Neither Sri Lanka nor Pakistan remains in contention for a semifinal spot following India's victory over New Zealand, which secured the last semifinal position.
Australia, South Africa, and England have already advanced to the tournament's semifinals. Pakistan is yet to secure a win, while Sri Lanka stands sixth on the points table, tallying four points.
