Indian shuttlers made an impressive start at the Badminton Asia U-17 and U-15 Championships 2025, securing victories against formidable Chinese opponents on the opening day.

In the U-15 boys' singles category, SL Dhakshan Sugumaran and Wazir Singh displayed resilience, winning their matches against China's Lyu Ke Ting and Xia Jun Long, respectively. Sugumaran came from behind to triumph 18-21, 21-14, 21-13, while Singh clinched a tight three-game contest 21-18, 18-21, 21-17.

India's presence was also felt in the girls' singles and mixed doubles categories. Anvi Rathore demonstrated dominance, decisively defeating UAE's Anishka Anu 21-4, 21-9. Mixed doubles pairs Punith Suresh/Aditi Deepak Raj and Jangjeet Singh Kajla/Jananika Ramesh progressed to the round of 16.
