Australia's women's cricket team will play without captain Alyssa Healy in their crucial World Cup match against England on Wednesday. Healy, who has been in exceptional form, was injured in a training session, leading Tahlia McGrath to take on the leadership role.
Healy's injury, described as a slight calf strain, was confirmed by head coach Shelley Nitschke. Healy had become the tournament's leading run-scorer with 294 runs from four innings, including two consecutive centuries. Georgia Voll is expected to step up and open the batting with Phoebe Litchfield.
Nitschke expressed confidence in their lineup's flexibility, emphasizing the squad’s depth. She stated that Georgia Vol and other players offer options, and strategic deliberations are underway to adapt the lineup effectively against England.
