Two Pakistani candidates have made history as the first foreign astronauts selected for China's space mission training, confirmed a government announcement on Wednesday.

Muhammad Zeeshan Ali and Khurram Daud are slated to travel to China soon, where they will be trained as reserve astronauts, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

Following their training, one of them is expected to become the first foreign astronaut to join a mission on the Tiangong space station, further cementing the partnership between China and Pakistan in aerospace endeavors.
