UP Government to Install Digital Lockers for Temple and Ganga Visitors

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to introduce digital luggage lockers at various sites in Varanasi, including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and nearby ghats. A total of 225 lockers in various sizes will offer storage solutions for visitors’ valuables, supported by digital payment options, to enhance visitor convenience.

The Uttar Pradesh government is set to introduce digital luggage lockers for visitors at key locations in Varanasi. Officials announced the installation of these facilities around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and along the Ganga River.

With a total of 225 digital lockers planned in sizes ranging from small to extra-large, these will be strategically placed at sites including Dashashwamedh Plaza, Godowlia, Town Hall, and Beniabagh parking areas. This move ensures that devotees can explore and enjoy the area without concerns about their valuables.

Himanshu Nagpal, Municipal Commissioner, emphasized that the lockers are designed to securely store a range of items from mobile phones to suitcases. The initiative is part of the state's efforts to modernize infrastructure and offer contemporary amenities in Varanasi, one of the world's oldest cities.
