Uttar Pradesh Shines Bright: Global Recognition of Energy Sector Reforms

The Uttar Pradesh government has branded NASA's recently released nighttime map as a global endorsement of the state's energy sector quality. The map, built from 16 lakh satellite images analyzed over nine years, reveals increased nighttime brightness in parts of northern India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, due to urban development.

According to the state government, this visualisation underscores its commitment to reliable energy supply under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Comprehensive reforms in the energy sector have improved power generation, transmission, and distribution, contributing to economic growth while making power supply more stable and reducing line losses.

Significant milestones like the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project reflect the state's progress. Enhanced digital technology usage in the power sector has improved service accessibility and transparency, increasing consumer satisfaction. Consequently, Uttar Pradesh is gaining traction as a preferred investment hub, supported by NASA's international acknowledgment of its energy strategy.
