A major fire engulfed a slum cluster in Vikas Nagar on Wednesday evening, consuming around 200 shanties and triggering panic among residents.
Although the fire is mostly under control, its rapid spread was aided by strong winds and flammable materials. Residents reported small LPG cylinder explosions, though officials have not confirmed this.
Efforts continue to assess the damage and identify missing individuals, while a high-level investigation is underway to establish the fire's origin.
