An earthquake with a 5.9 magnitude has struck the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) on Friday.
The tremors were notably strong and felt across regional capitals including Islamabad, Kabul, and New Delhi, as reported by Reuters witnesses.
GFZ stated that the earthquake had a considerable depth of 177 km (110 miles), potentially reducing surface-level damage but causing widespread concern across the affected countries.
