Delhi Achieves Record Low Air Pollution in 2025 Post-Covid Era

Delhi has reported a significant improvement in air quality, achieving the lowest yearly average of particulate matter PM2.5 and PM10 levels in 2025, as outlined in the economic survey of 2025-26 presented in the Delhi Assembly.

The Delhi Pollution Control Committee's Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System provided data showing PM10 levels at 209 micrograms per cubic metre and PM2.5 levels at 100. This marks considerable progress since 2015, excluding the anomaly year of 2020 when pandemic-related shutdowns had temporarily lowered pollution levels.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the increase in 'good air days' from 159 in 2018 to 200 in 2025, attributing these advancements to ongoing environmental initiatives.
