Delhi Revolutionizes School Libraries and Education Strategy
The Delhi government plans to enhance 125 school libraries with digital technology, identifies learning gaps among students. The Delhi government is taking significant strides to enhance its education system, as detailed in the Economic Survey of Delhi 2025–26. Plans include upgrading 125 school libraries with cutting-edge digital technology. This initiative aligns with their identification of learning gaps in 7.5 lakh students from classes 1 to 8, prompting targeted academic interventions.
In addition to library enhancements, the government is emphasizing inclusive education. This includes enrolling 879 children with severe disabilities in home-based education and mainstreaming 286 out-of-school children into formal education. Efforts also extend to developing functional curricula and setting up special admission cells.
Sports incentives have been considerably increased, with cash awards for Olympic and Paralympic achievements seeing substantial hikes. Further, language labs in 100 schools aim to broaden the linguistic proficiency of students with languages such as German, French, and Spanish. These diverse efforts underscore Delhi's commitment to an inclusive and dynamic educational environment.
