The Maharashtra government announced significant progress on the revised development plan for the Vasai-Virar region. According to Minister Madhuri Misal, the groundwork for this plan is set to finish within scheduled timelines.
During a legislative assembly session, concerns were raised about expert manpower shortages and recommendations for forming a guiding committee via the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Rajan Naik emphasized this through a calling attention notice.
The development plan accounts for strategic projects, including the high-speed rail (bullet train). A consultant has been hired to maintain the plan's quality, and a collective meeting with public officials is planned to discuss important matters like green zones. It has also been noted that the state may consider appointing an IAS-rank municipal commissioner for further oversight.
