Return Journey: Andhra Pradesh's Diaspora Homecoming Amidst Conflict
APNRTS President Ravi Kumar P. Vemuru reported that approximately 2,000 transit passengers and Telugu tourists from West Asia have returned to Andhra Pradesh. While some were flown home by the government, others traveled independently. With ongoing regional tensions, 70 remain in Bahrain awaiting their return.

In a significant development, the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) has facilitated the return of around 2,000 non-resident Telugus from West Asia. According to the society's president, Ravi Kumar P. Vemuru, these individuals included both transit passengers and tourists on visit visas.
Speaking to PTI, Vemuru revealed that the government played a crucial role in evacuating some of these individuals, while others managed their journey back independently. The evacuation follows rising tensions in the region, particularly the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
Currently, about 70 people remain in Bahrain, poised to return in the upcoming days. Vemuru noted that while there have been no injuries or fatalities among the Andhra Pradesh diaspora, potential travel restrictions could affect their employment, even as Gulf governments and employers continue to support them.
