The forest and wildlife department in Delhi has implemented stricter monitoring procedures for tree transplantation via the DPTA e-Forest portal. A recent adjustment to the procedure requires detailed documentation and the uploading of geo-tagged photographs, capturing exact coordinates to enable accurate verification by officials.

These modifications strengthen compliance with the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act (DPTA), facilitating better tracking of transplanted trees. Under the updated system, agencies must submit stage-wise photographic evidence taken from various angles, documenting the transplantation process—from preparation to post-transplantation care.

Regular updates and geo-tagged photographs need to be uploaded at three-month intervals for up to 36 months post-transplantation, ensuring the long-term success of tree relocation efforts. Officers from various forest divisions are instructed to provide feedback on the new system, paving the way for potential enhancements.
