Tragic Accident in Mumbai: Elderly Woman Killed by BEST Bus

An 82-year-old woman met a tragic end after being run over by a bus operated by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in Mulund, Mumbai, according to officials.
The accident happened at the Panch Rasta (M A Chowk) on P K Road around 10:30 a.m. The bus was on its way to the Mulund depot when Ushaben Jamnadas Kherani, standing on the footpath, lost her balance and fell near the bus. Unaware of the incident, the driver resumed driving as the traffic light turned green, fatally trapping her under the rear wheel.
Despite being rushed to a hospital in Mulund, Kherani was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival, recording her time of death at 10:50 a.m. Police are investigating the case, emphasizing the need for better pedestrian safety in the city.
