Delhi Launches First Cloud-Seeding Trial to Combat Air Pollution

In an ambitious move to tackle the worsening air quality in the national capital, Delhi is gearing up for its first cloud-seeding trial. The exercise is slated to occur in Burari, Northwest Delhi, contingent upon favorable weather conditions.

An official confirmed that the aircraft for the trial took off from Kanpur and will directly head to the designated area in Burari. The trial aims to induce artificial rainfall to combat air pollution, marking a significant step in Delhi government's broader strategy to counter the deteriorating air quality during winter months.

Should the weather not support the trial, plans are in place to station the aircraft at Meerut airport until conditions improve. This initiative highlights the urgent measures being implemented to address the critical issue of air pollution in Delhi.
