Delhi Unites for Post-Chhath Festival Clean-Up
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta led a special clean-up initiative at Vasudev Ghat following Chhath Puja. Assisted by Delhi Mayor Iqbal Singh and other officials, extensive sanitation efforts were carried out across 1,100 ghats. The drive aimed to manage post-festival waste, with a call for community participation.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta spearheaded a significant clean-up campaign at Vasudev Ghat post-Chhath Puja on Tuesday morning. In collaboration with Delhi Mayor Iqbal Singh, special teams were mobilized by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to manage waste across more than 1,100 ghats citywide.
The initiative saw prominent figures such as Culture and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra accompany Gupta in collecting litter, including water bottles and other solid waste left from the festival celebrations. Gupta emphasized the need for sustained efforts by both the government and citizens in keeping the city clean year-round.
Apart from Vasudev Ghat, Delhi's sanitation teams undertook intensive cleaning and desilting operations at new and existing sites prepared for Chhath, with added measures like fogging and beautification in place. Politicians including BJP's Virendra Sachdeva and Ramvir Singh Bidhuri also joined these environmental efforts.
