The Ganjam district administration in Odisha provided refuge to over 100 fishermen from Andhra Pradesh, as they faced harsh conditions at sea due to Cyclone 'Montha'.
District Collector Keerthi Vassan V assured their safety, stating they would be sent back once conditions improve. The fishermen, on 28 trawlers, sought sanctuary at Gopalpur port due to the cyclone's influence.
This marks a pattern of assistance, with similar measures taken during Cyclone 'Gulab' in 2021, ensuring stranded fishermen's safety amid natural calamities.
