In a significant development, the Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially lodged a complaint against Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. The complaint accuses Kharge of using derogatory language by referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a 'terrorist' during a recent press conference in Chennai.
Speaking at a press conference, Kharge allegedly made the contentious remark on April 21. The BJP's complaint was filed at the Dharamshala police station by state BJP media co-incharge, Vishwachakshu, who argues that such language is not only offensive but also an insult to India's 140 crore citizens.
The BJP is pressing for stringent action against Kharge under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), asserting that his words foster hatred and could disrupt law and order. They demand that the authorities act decisively to prevent such expressions in the future.
