In Berlin on Thursday, Iran's exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi was the target of a red liquid attack as he left a building following a news briefing. During his address, Pahlavi criticized the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, sparking the incident outside Germany's federal press conference building.
Following the attack, Pahlavi waved to his supporters before departing in a vehicle. The alleged assailant was quickly detained by authorities. The 65-year-old crown prince, son of the deposed Shah of Iran, has lived in exile for nearly five decades, yet seeks influence over Iran's political future.
In his Berlin speech, Pahlavi appealed to European nations for stronger support of Iranian democracy efforts, spotlighting recent executions by Iranian authorities. He questioned, "Will the free world do something, or watch the slaughter in silence?" as he advocates for external intervention.
