In a crucial move amid the ongoing 2026 Assembly elections, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretaries N Anand and Aadhav Arjuna submitted a petition to Tamil Nadu's Chief Electoral Officer, Archana Patnaik, highlighting the urgent need for transport facilities for voters. This follows TVK Chief Vijay's appeal to the Chief Election Commissioner, urging for public transport deployment to assist voters stranded at bus terminals across Chennai.
At a press conference, N Anand disclosed their complaint to TN CEO Archana Patnaik about voters unable to reach polling destinations due to inadequate bus services. He called for her intervention. Meanwhile, Aadhav Arjuna criticized the reluctance of CM MK Stalin and alleged fears of a higher voter turnout amid anti-incumbency sentiment.
Further addressing reporters, Arjuna highlighted that even TN CEO Archana Patnaik sought intervention from the transport department, underlining significant voter stranding. He accused interim CM Stalin of fearing a large voter turnout might lead to an electoral loss. Concurrently, TVK candidate Arjuna contested against high-profile opponents at Villivakkam constituency, casting his vote as logistical woes escalate.
