Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of orchestrating violence during the West Bengal elections. Pathak asserted that the chaos was anticipated, pointing fingers at TMC for allegedly using 'goons' to disrupt proceedings. The BJP has lodged formal complaints with the Election Commission in response.

The altercations involved supporters of TMC and the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AUJP) founder Humayun Kabir, clashing with crude bombs and lathis. The supporters engaged in stone-pelting, damaging nearby vehicles. Rapid deployment of security forces managed to quell the unrest, bringing the situation under control.

This violence followed Kabir's visit to Nowda, where the bombings took place on Wednesday night. Kabir led protests against alleged police actions and demanded accountability from the concerned officer. The Election Commission has requested detailed reports on the ongoing hostilities as security remains tight during these contentious polls.

Meanwhile, the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency emerges as a political battleground, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee facing off against Suvendu Adhikari. The area has seen intense rivalries previously and continues to be a focal point ahead of the May 4 vote count. Voter turnout remains substantial, indicating heightened political engagement among the populace.
