Elections 2023: Tamil Nadu's Power Struggle Intensifies

AIADMK Chief Edappadi K Palaniswami has expressed strong confidence that his party will regain control in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Assembly election. Speaking after casting his vote in Siluvampalayam, he urged citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.

The 2023 Tamil Nadu Assembly election kicked off at 7 AM across 234 constituencies amid strict security measures. Voters were seen queuing up at polling stations to exercise their electoral rights. The election presents a tug-of-war between the incumbent DMK, leading the Secular Progressive Alliance, and the AIADMK spearheading the National Democratic Alliance.

The AIADMK coalition, with partners such as the BJP, AMMK, and PMK, aims to unseat the currently ruling DMK alliance. Meanwhile, TVK, under actor Vijay's leadership, is making efforts to end the longstanding dominance of DMK and AIADMK by forming its own government.
