Edappadi K Palaniswami, the AIADMK general secretary, has rolled out ten additional welfare initiatives, boosting the party's manifesto commitments for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections to a total of 307. This announcement intensifies the party's campaign as it vies for victory in the 234 Assembly seats with polling set for April 23.

Aimed at enhancing public welfare, key measures include the establishment of 24/7 monitoring 'war rooms' to tackle crimes against women, alongside financial aids such as a Rs 10,000 subsidy for selected unemployed youth to purchase two-wheelers. Government TV cable bills are also set to be halved, providing economic relief to citizens.

Further initiatives feature support for agriculture and business sectors, like a minimum support price for mango farmers and aiding MSME growth with streamlined licensing. Cashew shelling machines will be offered to women in specific districts, while significant financial compensation is planned for families impacted by accidental deaths during work.
