NCP leader Rohit Pawar criticized the Union government on Tuesday for its proposed delimitation exercise, alleging it is an unscientific attempt to increase parliamentary seats under the guise of Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.

In a press conference, Pawar contended that the 2023 women's reservation Bill was primarily backed by all political factions, including the Opposition, in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He argued the BJP plans to integrate it with a delimitation exercise to boost MP numbers.

Pawar expressed skepticism about the timing of these moves, suggesting potential advancement of the 2029 general elections. He further commented on the Baramati plane crash inquiry, demanding answers from authorities about the sluggish probe pace and lack of action against those responsible.
