More than 2.37 lakh eligible voters, including 1.28 lakh women, participated in the elections, which are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the state's political future ahead of the 2028 assembly polls. Counting is set for April 27. Meanwhile, 2594 early votes were recorded from senior citizens, those with disabilities, and ailing individuals casting ballots from home.

The competing parties include the ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), the Mizo National Front (MNF), Congress, and the BJP. Current Chief Minister Lalduhoma was scheduled to cast his vote at 9 am.
