BJP Secures Major Victory in Gujarat Municipalities Before Polls
The BJP secured victories in three Gujarat municipalities ahead of polls after rival candidates withdrew or faced nomination rejections. Capturing majority seats in Kadi, Unjha, and Gandevi, the uncontested results underscore a significant electoral maneuver by the BJP, with upcoming elections scheduled for April 26.

The BJP on Wednesday clinched control of three municipalities in Gujarat without waiting for the polls, as rival candidates either withdrew or faced nomination rejection, according to officials.
In Unjha municipality of Mehsana district, the BJP secured 22 out of 36 seats unchallenged. The election officer, Biren Patel, reported that 14 nominations were withdrawn, and 44 were disqualified during the scrutiny process.
The Kadi municipality saw a similar sweep with the BJP gaining 28 of the 36 seats after a series of withdrawals by independents and other candidates. Meanwhile, Gandevi municipality faced 16 Congress candidate rejections.
