Flight Disruptions Delay Repatriation of Nepalese Bodies from Gulf Amidst Regional Tensions

Escalating tensions in the Gulf region have led to flight disruptions, resulting in the delay of repatriating 38 Nepalese bodies to Nepal, officials revealed on Friday. The bodies, situated in various Gulf countries including Riyadh and Dubai, have been held back due to irregular flight operations.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lok Bahadur Chhetri stated that bodies are located in diverse places: 17 in Riyadh, five each in Jeddah and Dubai, four in Abu Dhabi, and smaller numbers in other Gulf locations. Efforts are being made by the Nepalese government to rectify the situation and expedite the repatriation process.

Recently, nine Nepalese workers' bodies were successfully brought home from Kuwait via a chartered flight. Meanwhile, the ongoing conflict in West Asia has led to one Nepalese death and multiple injuries, and more than 86,000 nationals have expressed their desire to return.
