Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, labeling him as the 'most corrupt CM' in the country. Addressing election rallies in Karbi Anglong and Jorhat districts, Gandhi accused Sarma of orchestrating a 'land ATM' scheme with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Congress leader pointed to the alleged corrupt practices involving land distribution to corporates and highlighted promises of investigating Sarma and his family's alleged corruption. Gandhi also emphasized delivering justice in the case of late musician Zubeen Garg, asserting that Congress would ensure accountability and transparency.
As part of their campaign, the Congress unveiled a manifesto focusing on governance, identity, and healthcare. Promising various reforms, the party aims to decentralize power, protect tribal rights, and address economic issues that impact the people of Assam. The elections will be pivotal in reshaping the state's political landscape.
