Mamata Banerjee, leader of the Trinamool Congress, alleged on Wednesday that officials appointed by the Election Commission had been tasked with rejecting her party's poll nominations. Addressing election rallies, she urged caution during nomination filings, advising candidates to enlist legal support.
Banerjee accused the BJP of exploiting central agencies for political advantage, and criticized the opposition's tactics of importing voters from outside states. Highlighting alleged voter roll discrepancies, she insisted her government was working to restore deleted entries, ensuring representation for marginalized communities.
The West Bengal chief minister also criticized the BJP's policies, claiming they infringe upon the rights of women and economically disadvantaged citizens. Banerjee cited increased LPG prices and urged voters to oppose such measures, reaffirming her commitment to support through initiatives like the 'Yubasathi' scheme.
