Modi Asserts BJP's Development Vision for Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused the Congress of intending to implement laws that protect infiltrators if it returns to power in Assam. Speaking at a rally in Gogamukh, Dhemaji district, Modi alleged that the Congress aims to shift the demographic balance to create a permanent vote bank.

Modi highlighted the BJP's commitment to Assam's development, citing infrastructure achievements such as building five bridges over the Brahmaputra River in the last decade, compared to the Congress's three over 60-65 years. He also noted the distribution of pucca houses to over 22 lakh poor families and envisioned further economic empowerment for women.

As the Assam assembly election approaches on April 9, Modi emphasized the BJP's roadmap for job creation and self-employment, urging voters to support the party's continued governance. He predicted a BJP electoral victory and dismissed the Congress's prospects, promising further progress for the region.
