Congress Protests Against MNREGA Alteration and Foreign Policy in Raipur

A large-scale protest led by Congress unfolded in Raipur on Tuesday, demonstrating against the government's plan to replace MNREGA with the VB-G RAM G scheme. Protesters also raised concerns over LPG 'shortages' and foreign policy issues.
Authorities stopped the demonstration from reaching the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly by barricading roads, specifically halting Congress workers in the Telibandha area, about 25 kilometers from Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
In his address, Sachin Pilot criticized the Centre for diluting the MNREGA scheme. He accused the BJP of overlooking farmers and laborers while creating policies favoring a few industrialists. Former chief minister Bhupesh Baghel asserted Congress would reenact MNREGA and re-establish foreign ties when they regain power.
