India Condemns Pakistan's Airstrikes on Afghanistan Amid Humanitarian Crisis

India has sharply criticized Pakistan's airstrikes on Afghanistan, labeling them as a 'flagrant violation' of international law. India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, highlighted the attacks' hypocrisy, carried out during Ramzan, resulting in civilian casualties.

Addressing the Security Council, Parvathaneni demanded compliance with international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians, expressing concern over the displacement of over 100,000 people. The envoy condemned 'trade and transit terrorism,' calling it a violation of WTO norms, and affirmed support for Afghanistan's territorial integrity and independence.

India stressed the need for global efforts to combat terrorism and urged the UN to adopt flexible policies benefiting the Afghan people. Against the backdrop of acute food insecurity, India reaffirmed its commitment to Afghan development and stability, continuing its support through various partnerships and humanitarian assistance.
