In a bid to ensure a peaceful environment for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stressed the importance of a violence-free polling atmosphere. The commission has directed law enforcement agencies to strictly uphold the rule of law without bias.
Kumar acknowledged the deeply-rooted democratic spirit of West Bengal, noting its historically high voter turnout. He appealed to voters to maintain peace and participation, underscoring the respect for the Constitution prevalent among the state's electorate.
As the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls nears completion, the focus remains on maintaining electoral integrity.
