In a unique gesture of camaraderie, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, on a recent visit to Kerala, asked for his former gunman, Sabu Varghese, to be assigned to his security team.
Kumar, who was in Kochi to review preparations for the Assembly elections, took a walk down memory lane, fondly recalling his association with Varghese from his tenure as Ernakulam district collector between 2001 and 2004.
During the visit, Kumar praised Varghese, likening him to a brother. In turn, Varghese presented Kumar with a cherished family photograph as a token of their lasting friendship.
