In a heated exchange, Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo lambasted Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over remarks regarding 'The Kerala Story 2'. Deo urged Vijayan to respect 'raj-dharma' and let the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) make the call on the film's approval.
The controversy intensified after Vijayan condemned the potential release of the film’s sequel, denouncing it as a divisive attempt to propagate 'fabricated narratives'. He took to social media to express his strong dissent, labeling the film as an attempt to sow 'communal discord' within Kerala.
The debate over the sequel has reached the Kerala High Court, which has issued a notice to the CBFC and the film's creators following a petition that claims the sequel projects unfounded negative stereotypes of Kerala. This conflict escalates as the film's trailer, portraying deceptive love and conversion narratives, is released, leading to an upcoming theatrical release.
