In a heated exchange over freedom of expression, BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar launched a scathing critique of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's stance on the 'Kerala Story' film. Chandrasekhar accused the CM of double standards, drawing parallels between the minister's reaction to pro-Palestine events and movies exploring 'love jihad'.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Chandrasekhar highlighted incidences where a Hamas leader participated in a pro-Palestine event in Malappuram, Kerala in 2023, which the CM defended as freedom of speech. In contrast, Vijayan opposed the film on 'love jihad', leading to Chandrasekhar's critique of selective interpretation of Article 19. He encouraged viewers to watch the film regardless of the CM's opinions.

The BJP leader further challenged the CPI(M) to debate the issue, asserting that love jihad is a reality ignored by Vijayan for political gains. Chandrasekhar called for both CPI(M) and Congress to leave, advocating for better governance in Kerala.
