India and France Forge Special Global Strategic Partnership

India and France have officially upgraded their diplomatic relationship to a 'special global strategic partnership.' During a meeting in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron committed to enhancing cooperation in defense, trade, and technology in response to global geopolitical challenges.

The two leaders also oversaw the virtual inauguration of an assembly line in Vemagal, Karnataka, for the production of Airbus H125 helicopters. This endeavor reflects the countries' collaborative efforts in aviation, as Modi highlighted, noting India and France's joint manufacturing prowess.

Emphasizing the importance of their partnership, both leaders discussed the recent India-European Union Free Trade Agreement, which marks a milestone in India's trade history. They reiterated their commitment to uphold the rule of law and combat terrorism, further strengthening their strategic ties.
