Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced on Sunday that the alliance between the Bahujan Samaj and the Samajwadi Party is strengthening, buoyed by the inclusion of over 15,000 new members from other parties. This significant political development was unveiled during a 'PDA' gathering ahead of Holi.

Aiming to fortify societal bonds, Yadav stressed the importance of 'Prem Prasar Samaroh,' asserting that peace and development hinge on PDA principles. Among those joining the party are former minister Naseeruddin Siddiqui and ex-MLA Rajkumar Pal, whose entry is expected to bolster the initiative.

Yadav's remarks also seemed to target Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, whom he accused of disrespecting the honorable Shankaracharya. The controversy arose over comments made by Adityanath regarding the use of the Shankaracharya title. Yadav vowed solidarity with Shankaracharya and called for adherence to traditions.
