In an intensifying political confrontation, the BJP has leveled accusations at former Union minister Kapil Sibal, claiming he accepted a 2010 award purportedly funded by convicted American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The BJP has called on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to address these allegations publicly.
Sibal, alongside the Congress party, categorically dismissed these accusations. Congress's media and publicity department head, Pawan Khera, affirmed that Sibal's attendance at the event was unrelated to Epstein, emphasizing his commendation for promoting global educational collaboration at the time.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, supported by Shehzad Poonawalla, suggested a deeper connection by highlighting policies of the Congress-led government aligning with interests potentially influenced by Epstein. In turn, Congress pointed out flaws in the BJP's claims and demanded clarity on Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s alleged involvement in the Epstein files.
