Congress MP Manickam Tagore has called for power sharing with the DMK in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing the necessity of reclaiming the seats that the DMK failed to secure in the 2021 Assembly elections.
Tagore's remarks were a response to DMK leader R S Raja Kannappan's recent declaration in Madurai that his party aims to contest from 170 Assembly constituencies in the upcoming 2026 poll, predicting a victory in 160 seats.
In a post on social media platform 'X,' Tagore reaffirmed Congress's right to a share in power and highlighted the role of the electorate in this decision. A video he posted featured state Forests Minister Rajakannappan dismissing the notion of a coalition government, asserting that the DMK would secure 160 seats independently.
