Sharad Pawar on the Mend: NCP Leader to be Discharged from Hospital

NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar, who was receiving treatment for a chest infection, is set to be discharged from a private hospital on Saturday, according to the hospital administration. Pawar, aged 85, was admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic from his residence in Baramati, Pune district, after experiencing breathing difficulties and a persistent cough.
Dr. Purvez Grant, the hospital's chief cardiologist, chairman & managing trustee, confirmed Pawar's recovery and assured that the veteran politician is in good health. He is expected to be discharged later today. Medical experts have recommended that he take sufficient rest for a few days before gradually resuming his routine activities and public engagements.
Pawar, a former Union minister and an oral cancer survivor, recently suffered the loss of his nephew, Maharashtra deputy CM Ajit Pawar, in an air crash on January 28. The seasoned politician's health and recovery have been closely monitored by supporters and political peers.
