In a decisive victory, Congress emerged victorious in the Telangana municipal elections, taking home a significant majority of the wards. Out of 2,582 wards, Congress secured over 1,300, reinforcing its political strength in the region.
Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress president, attributed this success to the unwavering dedication of the party's grassroots workers and stated that the victory mirrors the people's trust in their governance. His comments came after the party's stellar performance was confirmed on Friday.
Kharge emphasized the party's commitment to creating a 'Prajala Telangana,' characterized by social justice and economic empowerment. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and BJP also made noteworthy inroads, securing about 700 and 275 wards respectively.
