Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has hailed a new era in urban transportation with the inauguration of 28 advanced electric buses for Ahmedabad's Municipal Transport Service (AMTS), a pivotal part of the city's transport infrastructure. The initiative, aiming to introduce a total of 225 e-buses, promises enhanced convenience and environmentally friendly commuting options.

This move is poised to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 75,000 kilograms, thanks to the operation of these electric vehicles. Notably, the entire project rollout is among India's fastest, with the tendering process finalized within six months and bus deliveries completed in merely three months.

The new fleet raises the bar for passenger safety in India, featuring innovative measures such as mandatory cybersecurity and safety audits alongside Fire Detection and Suppression Systems (FDSS) in each bus. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials, including Minister of State for Urban Development Darshana Vaghela, Ahmedabad's Mayor Pratibha Jain, and other dignitaries.
