Mizoram Awaits a 'Double-Engine' Government for Development, Says Union Minister

Union minister Jitendra Singh has called for a 'double-engine' government in Mizoram to ensure the state sees significant development. Speaking at the BJP office in Aizawl, Singh argued that development initiatives often do not reach people unless both state and central governments are aligned, which is why he advocates for BJP leadership at both levels.

Singh highlighted that BJP-ruled states have excelled in growth compared to non-BJP states. With confidence in winning the upcoming Dampa bypoll, he sees potential for the BJP to expand its influence in Mizoram, a state with a predominantly Christian population.

During his two-day visit aimed at campaigning for the local BJP candidate, Singh mentioned that the by-election was triggered by the demise of MNF MLA Lalrintluanga Sailo. The election will witness competition among five candidates, including those from ZPM, MNF, Congress, BJP, and the People's Conference.
