Chaos ensued during Wednesday's session in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly following allegations by BJP MLA Shagun Parihar. Parihar claimed that areas inhabited by 'nationalist Hindus' faced governmental neglect.
These incendiary remarks were swiftly countered by treasury benches, with Minister Javid Dar branding them communal and demanding their removal. Amidst the disorder, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary highlighted the equal patriotism of Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians.
Despite requests for the expunction of the remarks, Parihar defended her comments, mentioning similar statements by PDP leaders the previous day. Calls for reviewing house proceedings were made, stressing the importance of careful language in political discourse.
