TMC's Abhishek Banerjee Slams EC's 'Silent Invisible Rigging' Ahead of 2026 Bengal Polls

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee launched a severe critique of the BJP and the Election Commission over the new Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bengal, labeling it a 'Silent Invisible Rigging' exercise. The politician alleged it was a deliberate effort to exclude legitimate voters and skew the upcoming 2026 state elections in favor of BJP.

Banerjee claimed the SIR decision was orchestrated by the central ruling party, asserting it focused on exclusion rather than inclusion. Criticizing the move to raise discrepancies just 18 months after Lok Sabha elections, he questioned the narrow focus on West Bengal, ignoring similar border states.

The TMC leader accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of exacerbating public anxiety, resulting in a tragic death. Despite the challenges, Banerjee issued a resolute message that the TMC will only emerge stronger, warning of mass protests if voter's rights are compromised.
