In a recent statement, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MP Mahua Maji urged for an impartial conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, expressing concerns over alleged conspiracies during the process. Speaking with ANI, Maji affirmed that no objections would be raised, provided the revision is conducted justly.

Maji highlighted that issues arise when the revision is perceived as part of a broader conspiracy, referencing a press conference by Rahul Gandhi that unveiled numerous discrepancies, now subject to investigation. According to Maji, while verifying voter IDs isn't inherently flawed, prevalent discrepancies have led to ongoing crises, necessitating a transparent, nationwide SIR.

The Election Commission of India is set to launch the second phase of SIR across 12 States and Union Territories, aiming to finalize voter lists by February 7, 2026. This phase follows an initial revision in Bihar, aligned with the State's Assembly elections. The procedural outline includes a series of phases from training to publication, ensuring transparent revision processes.
