Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde has extended her support to quota activist Manoj Jarange, urging the Maratha and Other Backward Classes (OBC) communities to unite and resolve their differences. Munde made her appeal at a BJP event in Parli, Beed district, emphasizing the importance of bridging the social divide.
During her speech, Munde clarified that her statements in the previous year's Lok Sabha elections were misinterpreted and affirmed she has never spoken against Jarange. In Jarange's presence, she underscored the need for friendship and unity, stating she would visit him as a guardian minister if he undertakes another hunger strike, but would remain within legal boundaries.
Munde, reflecting on her father Gopinath Munde's legacy, noted her commitment to inclusivity. She addressed the government's recent resolution allowing Marathas to claim OBC benefits, which emerged after Jarange's hunger strike. This decision, however, has stirred unrest among OBC leaders.
