The Congress in Kerala has accused the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF government of sidelining a key ally, the CPI, amid the controversial decision to join the Centre's PM SHRI Schools scheme. Opposition leader V D Satheesan claims this move reveals deep fractures within the LDF coalition.
This accusation comes as a significant rift emerges following the state General Education Department's agreement with the Centre, which has attracted criticism from the CPI. Satheesan has openly questioned the actions of the CPI(M) and urged the CPI to reconsider its stance.
Alleging that central guidelines have been ignored, Satheesan criticized Kerala's acceptance of central funding under BJP-backed terms. The Congress claims that states under its governance have opposed such conditions, while Kerala unilaterally complied.
